I have known Richard Wellsmore for more than 10 years and he has been our mortgage and insurance broker for only part of that time. I met Richard while camping at Sheep yard flats in Victoria and we got talking and exchanged numbers etc. I never thought that we would cross paths again till I remembered he said he did something with mortgages when I was shopping for a home loan. I gave Richard a call, and we started talking about what was possible. Richard helped us buy our first property in Canberra - a fine experience. We both discovered we liked snow sports while I was just a beginning skier. Richard even gave me my first real skiing lesson whilst being on a snowboard himself and by the end of the half day I was actually skiing. He is full of helpful, practical and sane advice. Perhaps the advice is not something you would like to hear or are ready to hear but none the less, Richard speaks frankly and fearlessly without sugar coating his words. We have come to appreciate the frank honesty and truth of his words again and again. We have recommended friends and family to him, and in turn they have experienced the fine level of service and effort Richard puts in to his clients. We were stunned to hear about Richard losing one of his young sons last year when we were in Austria. Despite this, he had the presence of mind and decency to ring up my wife's sister to let her know that he would not be able to make the appointment with them due to what had happened. I have seldom come across the level of professionalism, dedication and sheer single mindedness of purpose. He is an asset to financial industry and a valued advisor to us and our extended family. I often consult with Richard for advice on a range of matters relating from skiing to property to insurance and have received valuable advice that has saved us a lot of money in the long run. I would highly recommend him to anyone for financial advice or general life coaching. I regard him as my good friend and a person of impeccable character.
