 COVID 19

When considering a repayment pause it is very important to take into account the following information, portrayed in Noel Whittaker’s (finance and investment), Noel News, available here. It is especially worth reading paragraph three under the heading ‘Fly Now Pay Later’ to gain an understanding as to how the COVID-19 deferred repayments will play out on your mortgage over its full term.

Special note: Should you read all of Noel’s News page it is important that I pass on that I don’t agree with his section on 'Interest Only Loans' as this is based on a specific period interest only loan. Most Interest Only loans written in Australia only come about as the first 5 year period on a 30 Principal and Interest loan. As such there is no need to refinance at the end of the Interest Only period as the loan simply rolls to a Principal and Interest loan, once this period has ended.

When Noel’s article gets too heavy, skip to the last section entitled ‘And Finally’ - it will bring some much needed brevity to you. It had me rolling around in stitches.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the other side.

Wishing you all the best!

P.S. - you may receive this email multiple times depending on how may institutions you have a facility with. The idea being, it will serve as a reminder for each one.
